Important information about the UK Visa Application Centres in China

UK Visa Update: Before applying for your visa, check the latest information on travel to England from another country during coronavirus (COVID-19). Pay close attention to any local travel guidance in your country of residence.
Due to extremely high demand, standard UK visitor visas are taking significantly longer than usual to be processed. You should bear this in mind when making any bookings.
UK Visas and Immigration will process applications as soon as possible.
You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre (VAC) when your passport is ready for collection. Do not attend the VAC until you have been invited to do so.
If you need to travel urgently to the UK for compassionate reasons, you will still need to apply for a visa in the usual way, including submitting biometrics at your chosen Visa Application Centre. You should clearly explain the compelling or compassionate reasons for your visit in your application form and alert the Visa Application Centre staff during biometric submission.
If your request is exceptionally urgent, you can also contact UK Visas and Immigration for help. Please note that this is a chargeable service for overseas customers.
You will receive an email from us when your passport is ready for collection, or when your passport has been mailed back to you in line with the options you chose at time of application. You should not visit your Visa Application Centre before VFS Global have contacted you.
Please note, you now have 240 calendar days from the date you completed your form on GOV.UK to have your biometrics taken at a Visa Application Centre. Please ensure that you book your appointment at a Visa Application Centre in the country you selected on your application, and attend within 240 calendar days.
Please also be aware, that due to restrictions still in place globally, we are not currently able to offer Walk-in service.
We strongly advise all customers to purchase Courier Return of their documents, so they do not have to visit the Visa Application Centre again, after a decision is made.
